🔎 Why Retention is a completely useless metric

🔎 Why Retention is a completely useless metric

(kinda)

Hey!

It’s almost the weekend, so I hope you’re ready to kick back like it’s May 2022!

Just me? 😂

Today, I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind as I’ve reviewed your retention graphs over the last 6 months.

Something which might just destroy the niche I’ve carved for myself 😅

📉 Should you actually care about retention?

Moving to ConvertKit took more time than expected this week and I didn’t want to throw out a half-finished newsletter.

Instead, I’ve recorded a 17 minute Loom discussing some of the nuances of retention and why you might need to change the way you think about it.

You’ll learn:

  • Why the shape of a retention graph varies based on your niche.
  • How you can still end up top of YouTube search despite low, spikey retention.
  • The one thing that will bomb your retention (which isn’t your fault and you can’t change).

You can check it out here:

⏰ The clock is ticking…

I’m changing how things work over in my retention graph database, the Retention Hub.

From April 10th, the database will be separated into two tiers, “Recruit” and “Pro”.

Not only is this because the database is constantly expanding, but I’m also going add additional reviews to the “Pro” tier that aren’t featured in my newsletter.

I’m talking top-tier creators, now sharing their retention graphs for us to learn from.

This means the price will increase👇

The good news? If you’ve already invested in the Retention Hub, or do so before April 10th, you’ll automatically have access to the Pro tier.

To get lifetime access for just $45, click here.

That’s all for now! Back to our usual retention graph reviews next week.

Appreciate your support as always!

Speak soon,

George 👋
